  1. FAUSTI - Here comes also the tiring journey of the Son, in search of his brothers, it will be the effort of the sixth hour, that of the cross.
"Take the stone away!" It is the order of Jesus.
The Son came to remove this stone that separates the brothers from life.
In his Resurrection it will roll away definitively, even though it is very great, so much so that it burdens everyone.
He has the power to offer His Life and to receive it again.
Indeed, precisely because He offers it, He receives it as the Son equal to the Father, the Giver of Life. "The stone is removed "on the word of Jesus, behind which we think that there is all that we fear. When the stone is removed, the light enters into darkness.
    Jesus lifted His eyes up.
We always look down on the stone, on which we project our fears.
Jesus, on the other hand, looks upwards, towards the Father of life:
" My eyes are on the Lord, for He will free my feet from the lace" Ps 25:15
    Jesus doesn't ask for anything.
He thanks the Father because He always listens to the Son, as always the Son listens to the Father; in fact, they live by the One Spirit, which is their mutual Love.
This is the second time that Jesus has thanked the Father.
In the first He thanked for the bread, a sign of the gift of His life of Son; now He thanks because this is communicated to those who hear His voice.
    - This cry comes from a thanksgiving action to the Father of life.
The Son of Man cries out, how many are in the tombs hear his trumpet voice. It is the anticipation of the final resurrection.
"You cried out, you broke my deafness" (St. Augustine).
What is happened in Lazarus is a sign of what is happening in us: after removing the stone that separates us from those who have preceded us, full communion between the brothers is re-established.
In fact, all of us, whether we are watching or sleeping, living together with the Lord, living for God, who is a God of the living and not of the dead.
