FAUSTI To rise again, to observe the Word and to walk before God: this is the healthy life, free from the poison that the devil has inoculated in those who listened to him. This is what the Word gives to the man who dared no longer hope. "When this happened, it was "Saturday", the accomplishment of creation and the fullness of life. Jesus, Lord of the Sabbath, the day of the Lord, came to bring man the Sabbath of God. For the Sabbath is made for man (Mk 2:27). "WHO MADE ME HEALTHY? " Before the guardians of the law, the former patient replies that there is a man who has made him healthy, which they neglect, because they are not interested in man, but in the law. Just by listening to His Word ("He said to me") and not the Word of the law ("it is not lawful for you"), he is able to take off the stretcher and walk. "He didn't know who he was. Jesus in fact had withdrawn..." This man doesn't know Jesus. Jesus meets him in the temple" As before He had seen him at the sheep gate, now He meets him in the temple. He has preceded him, Himself Whom soon they will decide to kill, the true Lamb who frees the world from His sin. His Word made him walk up there, carrying as a healthy person his own stretcher , which he used to carry as a sick person. The temple, home of the Father, is now the living and risen brother, as before was the sick brother and sinner. "Do not sin anymore" Here Jesus places a relationship between sin and sickness. According to Him, the origin of this infirmity is a sin, which He has forgiven (Mk 2:5). The direct clash between Jesus and the leaders of the people begins. The interpretation of the law, the relationship between man and God, is at stake. A question of life or death. "My Father continues His work" Jesus sets out the theme of the Revelation of the Son and His work, which will be discussed immediately afterwards. He calls God "My Father" "Father" indicates not only the relationship of birth, but also of Love, which is expressed in the fact that Father and Son are united in understanding, wanting and acting. God is always at work in creation, to lead it to the seventh day, when it is said that He "did" His work and rested. The text, which began with a feast, continues with the gift of the Sabbath and ends with a glimpse of the last Easter, when the Son will be killed and His Spirit will give us. The gift of Life will cost to Him the Life. The Sabbath before was bound and bounded, now it is loose, free and liberating. It is for man. Like the Sabbath, so every law, indeed God Himself is for man! With divine authority - as God Himself speaks in the Bible - Jesus begins His discourse addressed to those who accuse Him of becoming equal to God: "The Son can do nothing by Himself" Jesus is the Son, who neither takes possession of Himself nor of the Father. His doing, like His being, is from the Father. The radical evil of man is not recognizing oneself as a son, wanting to be the beginning of oneself, without realizing that in this way he denies the relationship that makes him exist. The Son is the loving contemplator and listener of the Father: He " sees " and " listens " to Him, He is with Him and does His same work.
